Our Parks

Our neighborhood is home to two wonderful parks, Graceada Park and Enslen Park. We are actively working to improve them and sustain them as functional and safe outdoor spaces for our community.

Graceada and Enslen Parks are two of the oldest parks within all of Stanislaus County, dating back to 1906 (see History Poster). With the help of the Parks, Recreation, and Neighborhood Department of the City of Modesto, CANA developed a proposed plan of improvements and renovations for both parks.

Graceada park

In 2018, the renovation for the pool and splash pad took 6-8 months to plan, two months to construct, and nearly $250,000 to complete. Thank you to the Barber Family, the Beard Family Companies, and all the businesses and community partners, that helped make this project possible: Burkett’s Pool and Plastering, Collins Electric, Sutter Health, Gallo Family, Pratt Architecture, Huff Construction, and MID.

And thank you to the Modesto Leadership Class of 2018 for the replacement of the tot playground equipment, which had been burned, and a new merry-go-round in the Graceada Children’s Play area. This work was done within a three month period and spearheaded by Kirstie Boyett Zacharias.

Several rotary members, city council members, and other community leaders came out to the park to celebrate the new musical flowers donated by Modesto Sunrise Rotary.

Enslen Park

With the funds raised at the 2019 Gala in Graceada, our big project in the fall of 2019 was to enhance the Boy Scout Clubhouse area of Enslen Park. Thanks to a $100,000 donation from Boyett Petroleum and $25,000 from Valero, along with their employees who volunteered at Day of Caring in October, the community plaza was born! In addition to Boyett Petroleum and Valero, several other companies were a huge help to this project. Thank you to Beard Family Companies, Simile Construction, McClanahan Construction, Collins Electric and City of Modesto. This completed Phase 1.

With funds generated from our 2020 Gala to Go, private and public donors, and the Andy Soderstrom Memorial Park Fund, we will continue progress at the Enslen Park Plaza and Playground area in front of the Scout Clubhouse at Enslen Park. The Soderstrom Family is working with us to assist with the development of this new recreational area.
